How To Keep Your Home Virus Free

How To Keep Your Home Virus Free

Keeping your home clean has always been very important to one's health. Right now, the new normal to everyone is maintaining proper hygiene to keep your home virus-free due to the coronavirus that is threatening the world. You need to take every necessary step to keep your home virus free because it is the safest place for you and your family in this crucial period. If your home is contaminated with virus then household members will often fall sick and can even contact the virus unknowingly.

However, there are various people who detest house chores and see cleaning their homes as a difficult task, but it doesn't have to be difficult if you clean often and use the steps that will be mentioned below as a daily guide.

Clean and disinfect surfaces

When cleaning your home, your first call of action will be highly touched surfaces. These surfaces attract viruses all the time and according to research, viruses, especially the coronavirus can last up to three days on surfaces which means anyone can come in contact with it. Hence, it is important to clean high points like your kitchen counter, doorknobs, light switches, handrails, tap, tables, remote control, etc often. All of these are things you use often and can easily attract viruses, hence cleaning with detergent and water all the time kills the germs. You can also use an antibacterial household cleaner to clean and disinfect these surfaces. For those little things that can not be washed, you can use alcohol-based cleaning wipes to wipe them often and keep them virus free.

Kitchen roll instead of cloth

While wiping your surfaces, it is essential to use kitchen roll instead of clothes because clothes used on surfaces can spread the virus more than you ever imagined. While using a kitchen roll means you can always dispose of it when you clean a surface then take a clean roll and continue your cleaning.

Wash your hands before stepping into your home

The ban on lockdown has been lifted and people are going about their daily activities while trying to stay safe. No matter how hard you try, you never know how often you have come in contact with the virus hence, before stepping into your home remove your shoes before entering your home. If it is possible, you can take off your clothes and throw in the washing machine, wash your hands properly, before finally stepping in to take your bath. To avoid infecting your doorknob, sanitize your hands first before opening the door.

Disinfect the floor of your home

While cleaning your home, don't forget to use your antibacterial household cleaner when mopping. The floor can easily get contaminated with viruses so mopping the floor of your home with disinfectant will keep it clean and virus free.

Completely eradicating bacteria or viruses from your home might seem impossible, but it is of the essence that you keep up with proper hygiene and the basic cleaning routine daily. You don't need to clean your home with disinfectant often, however, you need to use water and soap often to wipe surfaces. Whenever you also want to disinfect, don't wipe off the surfaces immediately, allow your disinfectant to settle in before you wipe. Furthermore, once you are done cleaning, wash your hands, and also sanitize it to ensure your self and your home is virus-free.
